Job summary

Markel Corporation is offering a Technology Internship Program in Richmond, VA. The internship provides hands‑on experience supporting innovative business and technology initiatives and collaboration with seasoned professionals within a Fortune 500 company.

As a Technology Intern, you will gain exposure to IT Support Services, API Management, DevOps/QA, Data Services, and US Specialty Insurance Tech. Housing/relocation are not provided, and sponsorship is not offered now or in the future.

Qualifications

  • Current college student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field or military experience.
  • Strong academic performance (3.0 GPA minimum).
  • Quick learner with ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks independently in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities; keen attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to understand how individual and team deliverables fit into a strategic roadmap, assess and communicate changes.
  • Ability to work in our Richmond, VA HQ.
  • Candidates that will not require sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay information

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.

The salary range for the position is $24-$28.50/hr.
