We are seeking a Maritime Technical Operations Engineer to join the Dive‑XL Field Operations team. In this role, you will deploy globally in support of Anduril's Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) platforms, leveraging your technical expertise to operate our cutting‑edge system in some of the most demanding and dynamic conditions.

What You'll Do

Technical Operations & Troubleshooting

• Deploy globally to support customer-fielded AUV operations from a variety of support vessel types.
• Lead hands‑on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs and associated equipment in the field.
• Master the intricacies of AUV operations and subsystems; serve as a product expert in both hands‑on and remote support scenarios.
• Drive challenging and vague technical problems to clarity and resolution at the interface of hardware, software, and networking.

Customer Support & Integration

• Liaise between customers, engineering, and operations for issue resolution, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Support the creation, review, and execution of test plans during at‑sea testing while working with integration and test engineers.
• Provide constant feedback to the product team to rapidly mature our systems.

Training & Documentation

• Collaborate on training development for initial customer deliveries and follow‑on specialized trainings.
• Gather and integrate customer feedback into user documentation and training materials.
• Review and contribute to user documentation for all aspects of AUV operations, including user guides, mission planning guides, etc.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience operating at‑sea robotic systems, ideally in a customer support role
• Extensive hands‑on (field operations, manufacturing, or test) technical experience
• Strong aptitude for problem solving in unstructured situations at the interface of hardware, software, and networking
• Proficient with AUV maintenance, operations, troubleshooting, and repair
• Comfortable with Linux, command line interfaces, and software debugging
• Strong computer and documentation experience
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, with strong communication and customer management skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Able to work extended hours as required
• Willingness to travel and support customer‑facing operations approximately 50‑75% of the time, including significant time spent offshore on vessels of all sizes
• Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, ocean engineering, related discipline, or comparable experience
• Prior military or overseas contracting experience
• Skilled in deck operations using ship‑based cranes, A-frames, or dedicated AUV launch/recovery systems
• Knowledgeable in electronics troubleshooting and test equipment use
• Experience in training and qualifying users or junior staff
• Experience with software development
• Expertise in integrating subsea acoustic sensors, navigation, and communication systems
• Knowledge of offshore HSE policies and best practices

US Salary Range

$112,000—$149,000 USD
