Maritime Safety and Security Officer - 2nd Shift

Job Details

• Location: Palmetto, Florida at SeaPort in Manatee County
• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Shifts Available: Monday through Sunday, 12:00 - 24:00
• Starting Pay Range: $17.05 - $19.50/hr

Includes 27 hours of paid training and a 4-hour unpaid Pre-Hire Orientation. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, and AD&D. We are recruiting disciplined, dedicated Security Officers with Florida Class “D” licenses to work in the Port of Manatee, supporting local and federal law enforcement under Homeland Security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and execute safety and security procedures
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations
• Conduct patrols around the premises and perimeter

Minimum Qualifications

• Florida Class "D" license
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (T.W.I.C.)
• High school diploma, GED, or college degree
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• At least 1 year security or supervisory experience
• Flexible schedule availability
• Reliable transportation and internet access
• Intermediate computer skills and strong English communication skills
• Physical ability to walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various environments
• Pass drug test and background check

Preferred Skills

• Florida Armed Security License and 28-hour Armed Security Officer Course
• Knowledge of maritime security laws, including MTSA
• CPR and First Aid certifications
• Military or law enforcement experience
