Job summary

Global Support and Development seeks a Maritime Planning Specialist to coordinate maritime engagements for humanitarian missions from its HQ in Charlotte, NC. The role drives operational planning, supports rapid response, and aligns engagements with organizational strategies.

The position requires strong planning, partnership development, and adaptability for domestic and international travel. It emphasizes SPHERE-compliant activities and impactful disaster response work.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) or more years of planning, process, or program management experience.
  • Five (5) or more years developing operational and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Five (5) or more years cultivating high-level strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Support disaster response planning and long-term coordination for the humanitarian vessel program.
  • Assist in developing HV engagement strategy and documentation to align maritime engagements with GSD strategies.
  • Coordinate with Partnerships to generate medium and long-term maritime tasking.
  • Plan maritime engagements, trainings, and partnerships aligned with scheduling priorities.
  • Develop procedures to manage HV resources and ensure activities align with priorities.
  • Ensure HV activities comply with SPHERE principles and organizational values.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required for mission support.
