Job summary

Triton Systems is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of innovative maritime technologies. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to bring ocean systems from concept through field testing to operation.

The role emphasizes design iteration in CAD, lab tests, at-sea deployments, data analysis, and contributing to proposals. 5+ years of engineering design and a BS in Mechanical Engineering are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of engineering design, prototyping, and testing.
• Experience leading technical efforts or small teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex, multidisciplinary engineering challenges with creativity and rigor
• Provide ideation, system architecture, and prototype development from concept through field testing
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including customers and partners
• Manage and coordinate technical contributors (consultants, subcontractors, and collaborators)
• Plan and execute experimental programs, including lab and at-sea testing
• Analyze results and clearly communicate findings through reports and presentations
• Support business development through technical proposal writing and concept development
• Ability to travel locally and nationally to support testing at customer sites, field sites, at-sea or otherwise as required
