Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking an Industrial Designer to shape the physical form of next-generation maritime systems, from hulls to enclosures and launch systems. You will collaborate with engineering to transform requirements into manufacturable, aesthetic designs that reflect our design language.

The ideal candidate combines an artist’s eye with hands-on building skills, sketching ideas, modeling shapes, and prototyping physical concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Product Design, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–10+ years of experience designing physical products — marine, aerospace, defense, robotics, or transportation preferred.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating concept ideation, 3D surface modeling, visualization, and physical prototyping.
• Proficiency in Rhino, Alias; rendering with KeyShot, V-Ray, or Blender.
• Skilled in sketching and form exploration; able to express ideas in analog and digital media.
• Understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and environmental durability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with engineering, fabrication, and leadership teams.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to export-controlled information or facilities.

Responsibilities

• Concept and Form Development: translate engineering requirements into cohesive, functional forms.
• Surface Modeling and Visualization: develop 3D concept geometry and produce renderings.
• Aesthetic Consistency and CMF: contribute to design language across vessels and hardware.
• Prototype Support: build or coordinate visual mockups for reviews and events.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with engineers and fabricators to balance form and function.
