Job summary

Quartermaster AI is seeking a Hardware Test & Integration Engineer to sustain and grow our HITL test bench at our Virginia HQ. You will integrate hardware, configure software, and write automated tests in a hands‑on role that emphasizes field testing and cross‑site coordination.

You will evaluate new sensor types, generate clear test results, and work with engineering to secure data, ensure traceability, and accelerate development roadmaps. Occasional travel within the DC/MD/VA area is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Robotics/Mechatronics, Test Engineering, or related hands‑on technical field — or equivalent experience.
• 4–12 years of hardware test bench experience including tools, 3D printing, and manual/automated testing.
• Experience building or maintaining test benches/infrastructure with COTS instrumentation and remote access.
• Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams with strong documentation and traceability.
• Willingness to travel for field testing in maritime environments and DC/MD/VA area.
• US citizenship and valid driver's license; security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain HITL test infrastructure at DC-area office and deployment sites.
• Develop and execute manual and automated test procedures for hardware.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to evaluate sensor models and inform development roadmaps.
• Coordinate with multiple sites for shared test infrastructure, scheduling, and configuration.
• Keep test data, equipment, and procedures organized, secure, and reusable.
• Perform field validation testing aboard vessels in the DC area and other US sites as needed.
