Job summary

Quartermaster is seeking Hardware Test & Integration Engineers to keep our HITL test bench operational at our Virginia HQ. You will integrate hardware, configure software, and write automated tests in a hands-on role focused on hardware testing rather than software development.

You’ll evaluate new sensor types using that infrastructure, with field testing aboard vessels in the DC/MD/VA region and other US sites as needed, while maintaining documentation and security of test data and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on technical experience in a related engineering field.
• 4–12 years of hardware testing experience and familiarity with test benches and mixed hardware.
• Experience building or maintaining test benches or infrastructure
• Proven ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams and maintain strong documentation.
• Willingness to conduct field testing in maritime environments and travel as needed.
• US citizenship and a valid driver’s license; current security clearance or ability to obtain one preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain test infrastructure at DC-area office and future remote/vessel deployment sites.
• Develop, refine, and execute manual and automated test procedures for hardware.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to evaluate sensor models and inform development roadmaps.
• Contribute to shared test infrastructure across sites and coordinate scheduling and logistics.
• Keep test data, equipment, and procedures organized, secure, and traceable across teams.
• Conduct field validation testing aboard vessels in the DC area and other US sites as needed.
