Job summary

First Citizens Bank offers an exciting summer internship program in Maritime Finance, focused on secured loans for vessel owners. Interns gain hands-on experience, work with a deal team on live transactions, and participate in credit underwriting and portfolio management.

A mentor/manager supports development, with opportunities to engage in professional sessions and community events. Hires are based in New York with a base pay range of $22.44–$26.40 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of experience.
• Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution during the program.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a dynamic team with research, analytics, projects, and strategy work.
• Attend professional development sessions, informational events, and networking.
• Work with a dedicated manager to navigate the bank and internship program.
• Assist on live transactions, including credit underwriting and portfolio management.
• Participate in internal credit approval meetings and client calls as appropriate.
