Job summary

Owen Daniels in Virginia Beach is seeking an experienced Field Network Engineer to join a leading USV manufacturer in maritime defense and commercial applications. You will design, configure, and maintain vessel and shore-side networks, including routing, switching, and IP architecture, to support reliable connectivity.

You will configure LOS/BLOS communications for trials and demonstrations, monitor link performance, diagnose issues, and implement rapid fixes across maritime and field

Qualifications

• Experience with network infrastructure, routing/switching, RF communications and electronic integration.
• Experience troubleshooting communications systems in field environments.
• Networking certification or equivalent field networking/architecture experience.
• Military communications background preferred.
• Ability to work in maritime and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain vessel and shore networks (routing, switching, IP)
• Configure LOS/BLOS communications for trials, training, and demonstrations
• Monitor link performance, diagnose issues, and implement rapid fixes
• Integrate and configure sensors, telemetry, and electronic subsystems across vessel and shore networks
• Maintain electronic control systems and interfaces to autonomy, control, and payload software
• Analyze telemetry and network diagnostics to identify root causes
• Implement safe, rapid workarounds during live customer events and consolidate lessons learned
• Prepare and validate communications/electronic configurations for each deployment
