Job summary

The Canaveral Port Authority is seeking an Electrician with strong maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair skills for facilities across Port properties in Cape Canaveral, FL. The role requires working weekends and readiness to operate within maritime safety standards.

You will interpret electrical drawings, install and service motors, VFDs, and lighting, and document activities in the maintenance system. A valid GED/high school diploma and 7+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 7 years hands-on electrician/mechanic experience, preferably in commercial/industrial settings.
Ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
Team player who can perform in a fast-paced environment, flexible and a self-starter.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must have basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Perform major and minor electrical maintenance, repairs, and diagnosis across Port facilities.
Troubleshoot and replace electrical equipment including motors, VFDs, transformers, and lighting systems.
Ensure high safety standards with OSHA compliance, particularly in a maritime environment.
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics related to buildings and utilities.
Complete work orders in the Maintenance Management System to document repairs and maintenance.
Operate power tools and equipment used in electrical, construction repair, and installation tasks.
Support emergency conditions as essential personnel and participate in recall or recovery operations if needed.
