Job summary

Gulf Stream Marine in Houston seeks an Equipment Operator II to support terminal and stevedoring operations across vessels, warehouses, and trucking interfaces. You will monitor, count, verify, and document cargo movements, ensuring safe handling, accurate records, and compliant procedures in busy port conditions.

The role requires operating cranes, excavators, loaders, and forklifts with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and efficiency in maritime settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred training.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card is required.
• Proven experience operating heavy equipment in maritime or bulk terminals.
• Strong safety knowledge for maritime operations and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain maritime equipment such as cranes, excavators, and loaders for efficient handling of project cargo (Pipe).
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
• Coordinate with terminal staff to optimize cargo flow and minimize delays.
• Load and unload bulk materials from vessels, trucks, and trains, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of cargo movements and equipment usage.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Assist in training new operators and other terminal staff on equipment operation and safety procedures.
