Job Description: QED Systems, an established marine engineering, planning, and ship modernization firm, is seeking qualified individuals experienced in marine mechanical applications. The candidate must be able to comply with all applicable safety regulations, work under industrial repair conditions, work in confined spaces, and climb vertical/inclined ladders. Candidate must be able to join metal components together through the process of welding or brazing in both shop and shipboard environments, lay out work to be accomplished, select materials required to accomplish removals/installations/repairs/alterations, and cut/burn/grind surfaces (as directed).
Job Requirements/Skill Sets:
Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight will be determined by the specific job but no less than 30 pounds.
Credit given for U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard experience. Some travel is possible.
Education Requirements: High School Diploma required. Military technical school(s) desirable.
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
