Job summary

AAA-USA Inc. is seeking a Marine Structural Welder to perform high-quality MIG and TIG welds on aluminum components for marine vessels. You will read blueprints, prepare surfaces, and ensure weld integrity across hulls, decks, bulkheads, and frames in shipyard settings.

Responsibilities include inspecting welds, performing rework as needed, and operating SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW processes with strict adherence to specifications. Travel to multiple U.S. locations may be required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of aluminum/structural welding experience shipyard preferred.
  • Strong experience with MIG (GMAW) and/or TIG (GTAW) aluminum welding.
  • Experience with flux core and stick welding in shipyard settings.
  • Ability to pass a hands-on weld test.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Experience with marine or heavy industrial fabrication environments.
  • Knowledge of distortion control and aluminum welding techniques.

  • Ensure proper weld penetration, alignment, and structural integrity.
  • Utilize various welding processes, including SMAW (Stick), FCAW (Flux Core), and GMAW (MIG), as specified.
  • Prepare work surfaces by grinding, cutting, and cleaning to ensure quality welds.
  • Perform repairs or rework on defective welds as needed.
  • Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.

A Marine Structural Welder is responsible for performing welding tasks to assemble and fabricate steel structures on marine vessels in accordance with shipyard specifications, blueprints, and industry standards..
