Job summary

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking a Marine Manager to lead daily terminal operations, including crane, rail, truck, cargo washing, packaging, and fleet maintenance. You will collaborate with vessel operations, cargo management, customer care, stevedores, and customers to ensure smooth cargo flow and exceptional service delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced maritime environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in marine terminal, vessel, port, transportation, logistics, or related operations.
• Strong labor management, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Strategic thinker who is adaptable, collaborative, and able to build strong relationships with employees, customers, labor, and business partners.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication skills and a commitment to service excellence.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Very proficient with operational systems, technology platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily terminal operations, including crane, rail, truck, cargo washing, packaging and fleet maintenance.
• Promote a proactive and collaborative work environment where management, labor, and service partners work together to achieve operational goals.
• Coordinate with vessel operations, cargo management, customer care teams, stevedores, and customers to ensure efficient cargo flow and service delivery.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, appointments, operational issues, and service-related concerns.
• Monitor cargo handling activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Manage equipment availability, maintenance coordination, and terminal systems while supporting operational excellence, digitalization, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate third-party services and invoicing while maintaining effective communication with customers, labor, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient cargo operations.
• Identify operational challenges and implement corrective actions to improve performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
