Job summary

SAFE Boats International is seeking a Marine Systems Installer to install electrical and mechanical components on our boats. You will work under Master Craftspeople to assemble wiring, fuel systems, propulsion and auxiliary equipment, ensuring quality and safety across installations.

The role requires experience with 12V DC systems, schematics, and basic automotive/mechanical basics, plus a strong emphasis on safety and precise workmanship. This is a full-time, on-site position in Bremerton, WA.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (GED/High School Equivalence Certificate).
  • Three or more years of experience in a related field or education equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working on SAFE Boats for a similar platform/product.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical and mechanical components on SAFE Boats products under supervision and leadership from Master Craftspeople.
  • Install outboard motors or inboard diesel engines and jet drives, along with cables and wiring.
  • Fabricate and install main and auxiliary wiring harnesses; install, interface and connect components such as lights, radios, radar, sonar, heating and air conditioning systems, generators, GPS and chart plotters.
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex installations; document or communicate installation information as needed.
  • Set a positive example and assist newer Marine Systems Installers with their work.

Why we need you and what you will be responsible for:

With record backlog and high demand for our amazing boats, we need to add to our awesome Team of Employee Owners to help us keep up! Under supervision and leadership from our Master Craftspeople, this position will be responsible for the installation of electrical, mechanical, and propulsion components on SAFE Boats products.

What you will do/work performed:

The installation of electrical and mechanical components on SAFE Boats products.

  • Installs outboard motors or inboard diesel engines and jet drives, along with associated cables and wiring.
  • Installs fuel systems and filters.
  • Fabricates and installs main and auxiliary wiring harnesses.
  • Installs, interfaces and connects a variety of components such as lights, radios, radar, sonar, heating and air conditioning systems, auxiliary generators, GPS, chart plotters, etc.
  • Troubleshoots and problem solves challenging installations.
  • Documents or communicates information related to installations as needed.
  • Sets a positive example and may assist newer Marine Systems Installers with their work.
Core skills we are looking for:
  • Thorough understanding of 12V dc electrical systems, including crimping, soldering and basic trouble shooting using multi meter.
  • Ability to layout, build and install subsystems from schematics, including development of part list ordering parts, assembling components and testing.
  • Understanding of gasoline and/or diesel powerplants, including basic automotive mechanical skills
  • Familiar with general shop safety procedures and operation of hand / pneumatic tools.
  • Understanding of ABYC standards desired.
  • Mil-Spec electrical systems and component experience desired.
  • Basic math and measurement capabilities
  • Strong communication skills- both active listening and relaying of information to others
  • Critical Thinking and problem-solving ability.
Required Experience & Education:
  • High School Diploma (GED/High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Three or more years of experience in a related field or education equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of experience working on SAFE Boats for a similar platform/product
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift to 40 lbs.
  • Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks
  • Must be able to work at heights and/or confined spaces
  • Forklift and scissor lift operations
