Job summary

AMPHITRITE RESOURCE GROUP, LLC in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Marine Surveyor Area Manager to lead survey operations, coordinate staff surveyors, and ensure high-quality reports for clients in the marine industry.

You will oversee field surveys, ensure timely client communications, and contribute to policy development, budgeting, and safety programs. This role requires strong leadership and technical writing skills, with on-call availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in a related field and five (5) years of experience, or seagoing experience to Chief Officer level, or ten (10) years of experience in a similar position.
• Membership in NAMS Global or a similar organization dedicated to professionalism, ethics, and continuing education within the marine industry.
• Report and technical writing skills will be a consideration.
• Current valid Transportation Worker’s Identification Credential (TWIC)

Responsibilities

• Coordinating the work of staff surveyors to ensure a balanced workload and proper assignments.
• Performing marine surveys on a direct basis as needed.
• Ensuring timely flow of information to/from clients and approvals of assignments.
• Producing concise, technical final survey reports per company procedures.
• Assisting management in budgeting and in developing business volume assumptions.
• Promoting company services in the marine industry and visiting clients.
