Craft and Technical Solutions is seeking Structural Welders for a role based in Sturgeon Bay, WI. The position involves performing complex welding tasks across multiple positions and requires welding certifications and the ability to pass several tests over a three-week period.

Pay rate is $30/hour with a per diem of $660/week. Applicants must have reliable transportation, OSHA familiarity related to shipbuilding, and be a US citizen.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of naval/commercial welding experience.
• Must pass tests over a three-week period.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Familiar with OSHA regulations relative to shipbuilding.
• Pass hair follicle test and background check.
• Comfortable with heights and in confined spaces.
• Lift 50 lbs without assistance.
• Understand ship layout and compartment identification.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Must be a US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Complete fillet and butt welds using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GMAW-P in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions.
• Heat oxygen/propane heating torch.
• Perform grinding and pick up work as needed.
• Complete air carbon arc gouging.
• Use fillet and butt gauges properly.
• Know metals characteristics and welding effects on material.
