Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Division seeks qualified Structural Engineers/Certified Divers ready to advance their careers. You will engage in port developments, marine engineering, ferry terminals, shipyards, and waterfront projects, delivering design and project management solutions while collaborating with clients and teams.

Ideal candidates hold a structural-focused Civil Engineering degree with EIT, plus offshore/inwater experience and certifications.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis required.
  • MS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with underwater and topside inspection of marine infrastructure.
  • Technical Report writing experience preferred.
  • Candidates should be comfortable operating small watercraft.
  • EIT is required; PE or SE preferred.
  • Ability to operate on SCUBA and Surface Supplied Air.
  • Current/Ability to pass ADCI Compliant Dive Physical.
  • Concrete, steel, and timber design experience.
  • Pre-stressed concrete and seismic design experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with performance-based seismic design, non-linear push-over analysis, and soil-structure interaction analysis preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASCE 61-14, AASHTO, IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, and NDS
  • Proficiency in SAP2000, L-Pile, MS Excel, and VBA is preferred.
  • Ability to work dynamically with clients and project team members.
  • An interest in working on a wide variety of non-building related project types.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a wide variety of challenging projects including port developments, marine engineering, ferry terminals, shipyards, and waterfront facilities.
  • Develop design with project management skills and provide exceptional client service.
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to deliver solutions on time and within budget.
