Job summary

Hornblower Group is hiring a Qualified Member of the Engineering Department (QMED) in Norfolk, Virginia. This role includes supporting daily engineering operations and performing maintenance and repairs on various systems aboard Training Support Vessels.

Candidates must possess a valid U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) and meet other physical and medical requirements. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential for effective operation within the Engineering Department.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with relevant endorsements.
• Valid USCG Medical Certificate meeting engineering service standards.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the Engineering Department and support daily engineering operations.
• Stand assigned engine room watches in accordance with the vessel’s operational requirements.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on propulsion machinery.
