Job summary

The Copper River Family of Companies is seeking a Buyer to join our procurement team in Clackamas, Oregon. This role focuses on sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing parts for marine vessel production, working closely with engineering and production to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include evaluating supplier bids, managing POs in ERP systems, and maintaining supplier relationships while supporting inventory management and cost control initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in supply chain or related field.
• 3+ years purchasing/procurement experience in marine/industrial manufacturing preferred.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills; able to read technical drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Source and identify reliable marine vessel parts and components.
• Evaluate vendor bids, quality, delivery times and prices for best purchasing decisions.
• Negotiate pricing and contracts to secure favorable terms.
• Issue and manage purchase orders using ERP systems.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to avoid shortages or overstock.
• Prepare regular reports on purchasing activity, vendor performance, and savings.
