Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in marine maintenance or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical certification or formal training as a marine technician, heavy equipment, automotive, or related field preferred.
• Experience in commercial vehicle maintenance.
• Parts inventory and purchasing experience.
• Aware of general principles of Inventory Management.
• DOT Medical Card is a plus; ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Port Engineer and Captain(s) to conduct maintenance on vessels and vehicles; document activities.
• Support service to boat and vehicle fleet with safety, comfort, and cost considerations.
• Assist inspections of vital safety systems on vessels, vehicles, and land facilities.
• Assist captains with maintenance activities of the boat crew; emphasize scheduled maintenance.
• Help ensure vessels and vehicles meet US Coast Guard and USDOT standards.
• Maintain spare parts stock to minimize downtime during peak seasons.
• Provide guidance to entry-level team members, including Assistant Port Engineer I.
• Coordinate with Transportation Coordinator to maintain warehouse safety and functionality.
