Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Ingalls Shipbuilding division, is seeking a Pipefitter to fit pipe and valves per drawings and blueprints in a shipyard environment. Candidates should have 6 months of pipefitting experience and 1.5+ years in marine-related construction.

Additional qualifications include NCCER certification and ability to read trade drawings in metric and standard units, with flexibility for day or night shifts as ships are under construction.

Qualifications

• 6 months of pipefitting experience.
• 1.5+ years of marine, shipbuilding and construction experience.
• Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements.
• Experience in layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves.
• Familiarity with fit-up, alignment tolerances and advanced blue print reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Fit pipe consisting of various materials (steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless) with valves and fittings per drawings and blueprints.
• Work in shipyard production areas including varying heights, confined spaces, and different weather; may work day or night shifts.
