We are seeking painters and painter helpers to become part of our team!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment: Shovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
  • Mask specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
  • Load parts on racks in enclosed rooms, into tumbling barrels, or into cabinets.
  • Journeyman painters will be responsible for cleaning and preparation of surfaces including metal and fiberglass surfaces. Surfaces include parts, equipment, interiors, and exteriors of ships.
  • Apply paint in accordance with drawings, instructions, and MIL and SSPC Standards using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
  • Mix materials in accordance with MSDS.
  • Tape areas to protect from paint.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Must be able to read and comprehend instructions, drawings, and sketches.
  • Journeyman Painter must have a comprehensive understanding of ship repair terminology and ship compartment locations.
  • Must be physically and medically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
