Tradesmen Internationalis looking to expand our team of qualified Marine Trade Professionals for current & future projects in and around Newport News, VA. Most positions are first shift with a pay range of $23-27/hour based on experience plus Per Diem to qualified Travelers 60+ miles from the job site. If you are a Marine Outside Machinistand want to work alongside other proven Craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior workmanship, this is your chance to advance your career!
Job Scope:
- Remove, Repair, Overhaul and Install, Align Main Propulsion Machinery and Associated Equipment and Components, as well as Equipment Associatedwith AuxiliarySystems such as Condensers, Compressors, Pumps, Forced Draft Blowers, Main Feed Pumps, Various Types of Valves, Cargo Handling Machinery, AnchorHandling Gear, Boat Davits, Cranes, Elevators, Conveyors, Firefighting Equipment, Machine Shop Equipment, Galley, and Laundry Equipment
- Install and Repair Foundations for Operating Machinery and Principal Structures and Components of Ship'sArmament
- Install, Adjust, Set and Repair or Replace Various Control/Regulating or Safety Devices such as Meters, Gages, Valves, Governors and Automatic Alarms
- Test or Assist in Testing of Shipboard Machinery, Pier Side or on Sea Trials to Prove Satisfactory Operation and Acceptance
- Coordinate and Arrange for the Work of Several Trades in Connection with Performing Work from Information received from Technical Work Documents, Blueprints, Specifications, Written and/or OralInstructions
- Install Ship Machinery, Propelling Machinery, Auxiliary Motors, Pumps, Ventilating Equipment, and SteeringGear
- Other Tasks as Assigned
Requirements:
- Possess Knowledge, Skills and Abilities to Perform Job Operation, Tasks on Conventional and Nuclear Ships and Submarines
- Able to Read and Interpret Technical Work Documents, Blueprints, Specifications, Written and/or OralInstructions
- Able to use Various Portable and Fixed Machine Tools, such as Boring Bars, Milling Machines, Facing Machines and Drill Presses
- Tools for the Trade
- Proper PPE
- OSHA 10 is Preferred
