Job summary

The University of Guam invites applications for a nine (9) month faculty position in Marine Microbiology. The successful candidate will develop and lead a research program on marine microbiomes or eDNA and collaborate with faculty across genomics, ecology, and bioinformatics at the Marine Laboratory.

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in marine biology, ecology, microbiology, or related field and the ability to teach online from Guam.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in marine biology, ecology, microbiology or a closely related discipline from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
• Strong publication record in marine microbiology and/or eDNA.
• Willingness to teach online.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and conduct research on marine microbiomes and/or eDNA in collaboration with ongoing studies at the Marine Laboratory.
• Develop and lead a viable, energetic research program and seek extramural funding.
• Teach at least one graduate-level course in marine microbiology once every two years and develop seminars.
