DERECKTOR FORT PIERCE LLC is seeking a full-time Mechanic to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical, propulsion, steering, and hydraulic systems on vessels. The role supports various repair, maintenance, and refit projects throughout the shipyard and reports to the Mechanic Foreman.

Essential duties include reading blueprints, diagnosing problems, and performing routine inspections and repairs to marine equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of marine mechanical experience.
  • Knowledge of marine mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge of all running gear and drive lines.
  • Knowledge of cutlass bearings, shaft seals and the removal of.
  • Understanding of blueprints and drawings of systems and layouts.
  • Able to maneuver and fit in confined spaces while working with heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to travel.

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical, propulsion, steering, and hydraulic systems on vessels.
  • Support repair, maintenance, and refit projects across the shipyard.
