Danversport Marina is seeking a hard-working, motivated, and detail-oriented Mechanic. The ideal candidate can work as a team player, listen, and take direction. We are looking for individuals with experience as a mechanic, a great attitude, and strong work ethic.

Danversport Marina is committed to providing education to employees and will train specifically in the marine mechanic trade. Prior training on boat engines and systems isnot required, only a mechanical background and an interest in learning about boat engine repair!

The main responsibility of this position is to diagnose, communicate, and repair issues related to outboard, inboard, stern-drive, diesel, and boat system repair. The exact type of projects assigned to the candidate will be dependent on the candidate’s prior experiences and interests.

We offer a modern, well-maintained facility with state-of-the-art equipment, heated indoor workshop, and personal golf cart for transport around site and to dock ramps. Danversport Marina is a full-service repair shop and is a licensed dealer for Yamaha, Mercruiser, and Yanmar, just to name a few.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work as a team player with our crew of Marine Service Technicians
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Assess, diagnose, and repair various issues related to boat engine and systems repair
• Maintain factory certifications as well as pursue new certifications
• Travel to off-site jobs, on occasion

Qualifications

• Experience working on engines and mechanical systems
• A valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• Prior experience in the marine industry (preferred but not required)
• Factory training (preferred but not required)

Danversport Marina is a complete marine facility open to the public for slips, storage, service and sales. Family-owned since 1970, the marina has expanded across two peninsulas, covering over 35 acres. We are home to a 6,200 square feet Scout Boats Showroom, a complete service center with master-level certified mechanics, slips to accommodate up to 305 vessels from 18’-55’ long, and winter storage for 400+ vessels.
