Job summary

People, Technology & Processes, LLC seeks a Combatant Craft Mechanic CCM at NAB Coronado, CA to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, MTU systems, propulsion gear units and subsystems including electrical, fuel, lubrication, ignition, steering and hydraulics.

The role requires coordination with the Government on CCM maintenance and safe procedures, with hands-on work in shipyard or workshop settings to restore equipment performance in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of military publications and engineering/electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostics support, troubleshooting, and repair to diesel engines (MTU preferred) and propulsion systems, including electrical, fuel, lubrication and hydraulic subsystems.
• Assist government with CCM maintenance recommendations and safety procedures.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic and steering systems.
• Perform repairs in shipyard or workshop environments as required.
• Coordinate with Troop or Maintenance Chain of Command on CCM safe procedures.

Responsibilities (including, But Not Limited)

• Provide diagnostics support, troubleshooting support, and repair to the following equipment: Diesel engines (Motoren-und Turbinen-Union (MTU) Preferred), reduction gears, auxiliaries, propulsion systems, including their sub assemblies such as engine electronic/electrical systems, fuel systems, lubrication systems, starting systems, steering systems, electrical distribution system, bilge dewatering systems, cooling systems, fire suppression, and hydraulic systems for the CCM, prime mover, trailer and associated equipment.
• Assist and provide technical recommendations to the Government regarding CCM maintenance and repair. Focus shall be on providing technical assessments and recommendations to the Preventative Maintenance System of the craft.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures, repair and maintain diesel and gasoline engines, adjust and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic and steering systems.
• Be capable of performing repairs in both a shipyard and workshop environment as required.
• Coordinate with Troop or Maintenance Department Chain of Command (COC) on all matters concerning CCM safe engineering and operating procedures.
