Job summary

Arc, a Torrance, CA-based startup, seeks a Mechanical Engineering summer intern for 2027. You will own hardware from specs through prototyping and testing, and you will design mechanical, thermal and/or fluid systems. Hands-on building and testing with CAD tools are expected.

Dates: June 14–August 20, 2027, at our headquarters in Torrance, CA. This fast-moving role emphasizes ownership, communication, and a strong engineering foundation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on project experience with mechanical systems or related engineering.
• Strong fundamentals in Mechanical, Thermal, and Fluids Engineering.
• Exposure to manufacturing methods for engineering parts.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Basic experience with CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Owning hardware from specifications through prototyping and testing.
• Designing mechanical, thermal and/or fluid systems.
• Hands-on building and testing of parts.
• Using hand calculations, prototyping, and software to engineer parts.
• Supporting design of next generation products.
