Job summary

First State Military Academy seeks a Marine Instructor to teach Leadership Education across grades, lead drill and ceremonies, and develop cadet leadership and fitness. You will support the MCJROTC program, handle cadet promotions, and contribute to logistical duties as assigned.

The role emphasizes maintaining Marine Corps fitness standards and a strong, disciplined cadet environment, with duties as directed by the Senior Marine Instructor.

Qualifications

  • Requires retired commissioned or warrant officers, or SNCOs.
  • Military service: 8+ years with retirement within past 5 years.
  • Members of SMCR reserve.
  • High school graduate.
  • ASVAB GT score of 100+.
  • Competitive military record.
  • physically qualified per height/weight standards.

Job Description: Marine Instructor (MI)


Marine Instructor, First State Military Academy. The Marine Instructor (MI) works for the Senior Marine Instructor (SMI) in the daily performance of their duties. The MI is responsible for teaching the Leadership Education portion of the curriculum for their assigned grade level (freshman – senior), drill and ceremonies, leadership and character development of the cadets, cadet promotions, physical fitness training, and other duties as may be assigned, such as Marksmanship, Drill, Raiders, Cyber Patriot, and logistical duties in support of the MCJROTC program. MIs are expected to maintain the Marine Corps' height and weight standards.


Qualifications: Marine Instructor (MI)


  • 1. Retired commissioned or warrant officers, or SNCOs.

  • 2. Marines separated under honorable conditions within the past 5 years with at least 8 years of service.

  • 3. Members of the selected reserve (SMCR).

  • 4. High school graduate.

  • 5. Minimum GT score of 100 on Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).

  • 6. Competitive military record.

  • 7. Physically qualified according to Marine Corps height and weight standards.

  • *All college degrees will be verified for accreditation. Degrees from colleges, universities, and institutions for higher education that cannot be verified as accredited, will not be accepted.


Additional Job Information:


  • Satisfactory FNI background check before being placed on payroll.

  • Satisfactory child protection registry check.

  • TB Test

  • Mandatory direct deposit of pay.


Salary: Salary will be calculated on an individual basis.
