Job summary

US Coatings is seeking an HSE Coordinator to support the safety director by inspecting, testing, and evaluating workplace environments, programs, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety policies.

You will assist in safety program administration on projects, help investigate accidents and environmental incidents, plan and deliver safety training, and document findings while coordinating with site safety personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of job site safety experience in a shipyard environment.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and communicate with employees, supervisors, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Administrative responsibility for the safety program on projects as assigned.
• Assist in the investigation of serious accidents and major environmental incidents.
• Assist in the planning, preparation, and presentation of safety training as needed.
• Assist in maintaining the database related to the safety program and write reports as necessary.
• Perform job hazard analysis to identify hazards within the workplace. Stop any operations if the health, safety, or environmental risks are unacceptable.
• Coach and guide employees and management regarding safety compliance issues and safe product applications.
• Participate in safety initiatives, meetings, and programs as required by the customer.
• Work with job site safety personnel to identify and resolve safety issues.
• Investigate incidents involving company property, employees, or temporary employees. Prepare documentation to ensure an adequate investigation and preservation of evidence is completed.
• Coordinate transportation of injured or ill employees to medical facilities.
• Track and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
