Job summary

ttg Talent Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Marine Forklift Operator in Opa-locka, FL. This onsite role involves moving, loading, and staging large marine vessels with heavy-capacity forklifts, ensuring safety and balance for each move.

The candidate must hold a current forklift certification and have experience with oversized loads, load stability, and OSHA safety requirements. Expect a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule, with overtime as needed under a Temp-to-Perm contract.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy-capacity forklifts and equipment to move, position, stage, load, and relocate large vessels.
• Evaluate vessel size, weight, balance, clearance, travel paths, and surrounding conditions before movement.
• Ensure vessels are properly supported, balanced, and positioned while protecting surfaces from damage.
• Coordinate vessel movement with Production, Facilities, Quality Control, Service, and other teams.
• Work with spotters and follow communication procedures when maneuvering vessels in restricted or congested areas.
• Stage vessels for production, inspections, sea trials, service, transportation, and delivery.
• Perform pre-use forklift and equipment inspections and report issues promptly.
• Follow vessel-movement procedures, load-positioning standards, and safety practices.
• Wear required PPE and report accidents or hazards.
• Participate in safety training and remove unsafe equipment from service when needed.
• Support Facilities with equipment movement and basic facility tasks.
• Transport parts, supplies, tools, and equipment to production departments as needed.
• Assist receiving, loading, unloading, staging, and storing materials and vendor deliveries.
• Support movement and organization of large inventory requiring forklift assistance.
• Maintain clean, organized vessel staging and material-handling areas.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused Marine Forklift Operator to support vessel movement and material-handling operations within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for safely moving, positioning, loading, and staging large vessels using heavy-capacity forklifts and other authorized material-handling equipment.

The ideal candidate has experience handling large, oversized, or high-value loads and demonstrates strong spatial awareness, sound judgment, and attention to detail. This role also provides operational support to Facilities and Stockroom/Materials functions through material movement, deliveries, equipment relocation, and general facility needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy-capacity forklifts and authorized equipment to move, position, stage, load, and relocate large vessels.
• Evaluate vessel size, weight, balance, clearance, travel paths, and surrounding conditions before beginning movement.
• Ensure vessels are properly supported, balanced, and positioned while protecting finished surfaces and components from damage.
• Coordinate vessel movement with Production, Facilities, Quality Control, Service, and other operational teams.
• Work with designated spotters and follow established communication procedures when maneuvering vessels through restricted or congested areas.
• Stage vessels as required for production, inspections, sea trials, service, transportation, and delivery.
• Perform required pre-use forklift and equipment inspections and promptly report mechanical issues, damage, or unsafe conditions.
• Follow established vessel-movement procedures, forklift capacity requirements, load-positioning standards, and pedestrian and traffic safety practices.
• Wear required PPE and immediately report accidents, near misses, and safety hazards.
• Participate in required safety training and remove unsafe equipment from service when necessary.
• Support Facilities with equipment and material movement, general facility projects, cleanup, organization, and basic handyman-related tasks.
• Transport parts, supplies, tools, and equipment to production departments as needed.
• Assist with receiving, loading, unloading, staging, and storing incoming materials and vendor deliveries.
• Support the movement and organization of large or heavy inventory requiring forklift assistance.
• Maintain clean, organized, and unobstructed vessel staging and material-handling areas.
• Keep forklifts and assigned equipment in clean and safe operating condition.
• Properly park, secure, and store equipment when not in use.
• Report preventative maintenance and equipment servicing needs to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform additional duties based on evolving operational needs.

Requirements

• Current forklift certification required.
• Experience operating heavy-capacity forklifts with large, oversized, or high-value loads required.

• Strong hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and spatial awareness when maneuvering large vessels.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors around machinery, moving equipment, noise, dust, chemicals, fumes, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to wear required PPE and comply with applicable safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience moving boats, marine vessels, large vehicles, or oversized manufactured products.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, marine, warehouse, stockroom, or facilities operations.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record for runner or off-site responsibilities.
• Experience supporting receiving, material handling, inventory movement, or general facility operations.
