Job summary

Arc Boat Company in Los Angeles is seeking a Fabrication Technician to turn raw stock into boat-ready components. You will run CNC mills, weld, and fabricate fixtures, with a focus on safety and efficiency on-site at our LA HQ.

You’ll shift between machining, welding, and fabrication per build schedules, reading drawings, and supporting engineers with fast prototyping. The role is physically demanding and based in our on-site fab shop.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in metal fabrication and machining in production, prototype, or job shop environments.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills.
• Experience with MIG welding on mild steel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and basic GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Experience with common shop equipment: bandsaws, shears, press brakes, grinders, and drill presses.
• Comfort shifting between machining, welding, and fabrication work as priorities change.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision at a fast but sustainable pace.
• Enthusiasm for boating and clean energy.
• Active role requiring physical activity and standing for most of the shift.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills (3 and 5 axis).
• Run manual mills and lathes for off parts and rework.
• Fabricate brackets, mounts, enclosures, and structural components from drawings and sketches.
• Cut, bend, form, and drill sheet metal, plate, tube, and bar stock.
• Weld and assemble steel, aluminum, and stainless parts using MIG and TIG.
• Deburr, tap, finish, and assemble machined parts.
• Build jigs, fixtures, and shop tooling for faster, repeatable builds.
• Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Support engineers with rapid prototypes and design-for-manufacturability feedback.
• Keep the fab shop clean, safe, and stocked.
