Job summary

Mackay Marine is seeking an experienced Marine Electronics Technician for the Tacoma depot in Fife, WA. The MET will install, service, and repair radios, radars, nav and communication equipment on commercial vessels, using schematics and manuals to solve technical problems and generate detailed service reports.

The role requires 3+ years in MET/ET/AT or related naval or shipping experience, an associate degree or equivalent training, and relevant licenses or timely attainment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in MET/MSE/ET/AT on commercial shipping or Navy/Coast Guard experience.
• Associate degree or equivalent technical training and experience.
• FCC General License with Radar Endorsement preferred or must be attained within 90 days of start date.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and work in weather.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair marine electronic equipment on-board commercial ships.
• Test, adjust, and troubleshoot components and antennas; load and modify software as needed.
• Prepare detailed service reports after work is completed.
