Job summary

Mackay Marine in Miramar, FL, is seeking an experienced Marine Electronics Technician (MET) to install, service, and repair radios, radars, GPS, autopilots, and related equipment on ships. Under limited supervision, you will test, troubleshoot, and load software updates, and produce detailed service reports.

Required: 3+ years MET/ET experience in commercial shipping or military, an Associate’s degree or equivalent, and FCC General License with Radar Endorsement; physical fitness and a valid

Qualifications

• 3+ years MET/ET experience in commercial shipping or the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
• Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.
• Be physically fit; heavy lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders/masts, exposure to weather.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Mackay Marine has an opening for an experienced Marine Electronics Technician (MET) in our ‘Miami’ depot located in Miramar, FL.

Marine Electronics Technician Job Summary

Under limited supervision, the Marine Electronics Technician (MET) installs, services, and repairs electronic equipment such as Radios, Radars, GPS, Autopilots, etc. on board ships. METs will test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, PCBs, and sub-assemblies as well as to load, update, and modify software. Marine Electronics Technicians utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems and make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completing the job, the MET composes a detailed service report.

Marine Electronics Technician Requirements
