Job summary

Military Sealift Command seeks a Civil Service Mariner Electronics Technician to service, test and repair onboard shipboard electrical and electronic systems. The role requires independent work, troubleshooting and proficiency with diverse test equipment across shipboard networks and automation systems.

Qualified candidates must hold MMC, TWIC/CAC with sufficient remaining validity and an associate degree or higher in electrical/electronics.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen 18+ with valid credentials.
• Minimum eligibility as listed in the notice.
• MMC and TWIC/CAC with remaining validity are required.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and interpret test results from a range of electrical/electronic test equipment.
• Operate, test and demonstrate for regulatory bodies.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair a wide range of electrical/electronic equipment aboard ship.
• Support engine room controls, automation, instrumentation and data networks on vessels.
• Maintain ship’s electrical generation, distribution electronics and automated controls.
