Job summary

American Commercial Barge Line is seeking a Marine Electrician in Cairo, IL to maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment for our fleet. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with regulations, and reliability, ensuring efficient vessel operations.

The candidate should have 5+ years of marine electrical maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain TWIC. On-call weekends/nights and occasional overnight travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC credential.
• On-call weekends and nights may be required; overnight travel possible.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and service electrical equipment during overhaul to ensure safe operations.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on electrical vessel systems.
• Order parts and manage inventory for repairs and emergencies.
• Complete service calls on vessels to perform required repairs.
• Collaborate with maintenance crew, vendors, and vessel crew for repairs.
• Advise leadership and boat crew on electrical guidelines for safe operations.
• Document all work in the maintenance database.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
