Job summary

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is seeking a Marine Electrical Instructor to lead the Maritime Bootcamp. You will teach marine electrical installation, schematics interpretation, and safety-compliant procedures to non-credit workforce students, while maintaining equipment and records.

The instructor will stay current with industry technology and shipbuilding standards and report to the Workforce Project Director at AMTC. Open Date 09/14/2026; Close Date 09/25/2026.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ full-time experience in marine electrical installation, maintenance, or repair.
• Competencies in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ship construction drawings.
• Proficient with electrical testing equipment and capable of operating and maintaining marine electrical lab equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical safety procedures, LOTO, and industry standards.
• Ability to train a diverse group of individuals with varying experience levels.
• Proficient with computer and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach marine electrical installation techniques to non-credit workforce students/trainees.
• Educate students on installation techniques, safety practices, testing procedures, and troubleshooting methods.
• Supervise and provide real-time feedback to students in electrical environments.
• Maintain equipment and records of student attendance and performance.
• Remain current with industry technology, electrical codes, and shipbuilding standards.
