Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Designer in Metairie, LA to develop electrical production drawings and integrated diagrams for marine vessels.

The role collaborates with Electrical Engineers and uses CAD/ECAD tools to model, wire, and review systems. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of electrical marine design experience or an associate's degree in drafting/design and is familiar with industry codes such as IEEE, NEC, and ABS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year experience in electrical marine design or equivalent or an associate's degree in relevant field.
• Associate's degree in drafting/design or relevant field.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical drawings to verify safety, function, and contract compliance.
• Develop and maintain Integrated Cable Block Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Master Cable Schedule, and General Arrangements.
• Conduct field inspections to ensure installation conforms to design specs.
• Review models and production drawings from other disciplines for integration with vessel systems.
• Use computer aided engineering and design software to perform tasks.
• Assist with building and insertion of Electrical Ship Constructor Parts.
• Capture drawing impacts when changes occur and update all affected materials.
• Support Functional Engineering Group to ensure deliverables.
