Job summary

Buoyancy Consultants & Engineering is seeking a Design Engineer to work with the design team and clients on electrical design tasks. You will prepare drawings, perform load analyses, and produce installation layouts for cables and cable trays.

The role requires a graduate in electrical or equivalent with 0–1 year experience and proficiency in Aveva Marine, Cadmatic, and Ship Constructor. Willingness to relocate domestically or internationally is essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate in electrical or equivalent with 0–1 year industry experience.
  • 3D ship design software experience: Aveva Marine, Cadmatic, Ship Constructor.
  • Prior experience in marine electrical design preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical installation, control and communication equipment.
  • Good communication skills and customer-facing mindset.
  • Willing to relocate on client site domestically or internationally.
  • Relaxed attention to detail and strive for perfection.
  • Willing to commit to minimum 2 years service.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with design team and client on electrical design tasks.
  • Prepare electrical design drawings following applicable rules and regulations.
  • Produce electrical production and installation drawings (cables, cable trays).
  • Inspect boards, vessels or assemblies for preparation, verification or improvement.
  • Identify changes in client drawings and prepare markup for queries and variation orders.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Section Head/TL/Manager.
  • Willing to relocate on client site as required.
