Job summary

Cooper Consolidated, LLC is seeking a dispatch specialist to coordinate daily marine transportation and logistics for tugboats, barges, and fleets along the lower Mississippi River. You will log dispatch data, communicate with operators, and support billing with accurate records.

This role requires strong organizational and analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work independently or in a team within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in general studies or equivalent experience and training.
• Experience: None required.
• Preferred: Prior dispatch experience and/or related industry experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail, highly organized and analytical.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work autonomously or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Keep daily dispatch logs current and ready for billing.
• Evaluate situations and act independently to solve problems.
• Work with internal operations to develop logistics solutions.
• Keep fleet security as a priority.
• Coordinate dock breakdowns and setup with shipyards.
• Coordinate efficient movement of barges in/out of fleets.
• Coordinate tow building with line boats' arrival.
• Coordinate barge schedules with shipyards and customers.
• Assist management with fleet operations.
• Follow company policies regarding operational difficulties.
• Other duties as assigned.
