Job summary

Caldwell Marine International, a JAG Company, seeks a Marine Construction Estimator to price bid items for submarine cable installation and heavy civil marine projects. You will prepare takeoffs and procurement quotes to support project costs and collaborate with the project team on pre-bid and bid reviews.

Candidate should have 5+ years estimating experience; degree preferred but not required. Travel to job sites is expected, with a full-time on-site schedule in Wall Township, NJ.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in marine construction or related field.
• Degree preferred in Civil or Ocean Engineering or Construction Management but not required.
• Knowledge of construction means, methods, costs, and engineering principles.
• Effective presentation, oral and written skills, deadline- and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, requirements and specifications.
• Prepare and price bid items.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing.
• Review bid documents and assess project risks.
• Understand project logistics and schedule.

Marine Construction Estimator – Cable Lay and Marine Heavy Civil Construction

We are seeking a Marine Construction Estimator for procurement of bid opportunities for projects involving submarine cable installation and heavy civil marine construction.

The Marine Construction Estimator will be responsible for the pricing of activities including all required takeoffs and procurement of all vendor and subcontractor quotes necessary to support the cost of marine construction projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
• Preparation and pricing of Bid items.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing.
• Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks.
• Understand project logistics and project schedule.
• Pre-bid and final Bid review with Project team.
• Perform other duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree preferred in Civil or Ocean Engineering or Construction Management but not required.
• 5+ years of estimating experience. Marine construction experience is beneficial but not required.
• Knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles.
• Effective presentation, oral and written skills, deadline and detail-oriented.
• Strong computer skills in Office 365, HCSS Heavy Bid/Heavy Job, Planswift Takeoff Software or equivalent.
• Some travel to job site is required.
• Ability to prioritize, well-organized, flexible, detail oriented and multi-task oriented.
