Marching Band Director

Position Type: Supplemental

Location: Unionville High School

Availability: August 2025

Reports to: Principal

Position Summary:

The Marching Band Director will have direct contact with the administration regarding all activities of the performance group, including parades, competitions, football games, fundraising, trips, and more. The director will also facilitate the selection of performances and marching band-related events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Select and instruct music and marching routines for field shows and other activities.
2. Maintain records of all equipment, including instruments, music, and uniforms.
3. Arrange transportation for trips.
4. Keep a record of all performances.
5. Communicate effectively regarding all activities, performances, and practices with staff, students, and parents.
6. Attend and organize biweekly band parents’ meetings throughout the season.
7. Organize summer rehearsals for students.
8. Rehearse at least 2 days a week during the competitive season (September through championships).
9. Attend a minimum of 5 competitions and 1 championship each season.
10. Coordinate two weeks of band camp before the start of the school year.
11. Attend all football games with the marching band.

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
• Pennsylvania State Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
• Federal Criminal History Record Check (Act 114)
• Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release: The district uses an online process for submission and processing of these forms. Candidates will receive further information during the selection process.
