Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis is seeking a Restaurant Server to deliver exceptional dining experiences for guests and residents. You will take orders, describe menu items in detail, and coordinate with kitchen and bar to ensure timely service.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of Food & Beverage experience, the ability to stand 8 hours, lift 50 lbs, and possess TIPS/ServSafe certifications. This is a full-time, on-site role in a luxury hotel setting.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in Food & Beverage and previous server experience.
• Standing for up to 8 hours and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of Minneapolis area desirable but not required.
• TIPS and ServSafe certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take guest orders and describe menu items with engaging descriptions.
• Relay orders to kitchen and bar via POS; coordinate food and beverage timing.
• Deliver orders to tables or lounge promptly and check for accuracy.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
• Adapt service to a mix of local guests and international travelers.
• Close guest checks and process payments accurately.
• Breakdown and reset tables and chairs between guests.
• Collaborate professionally with teammates and supervisors.
• Assist in other F&B duties during busy periods.

About the role

Basic Purpose: The Restaurant Server is an essential member of the team. Servers will be responsible for creating a memorable dining experience for guests and residents, providing exceptionaland anticipatoryservice while showcasing a knowledgeable understanding of the menu andpreparation methods.

What you will do

• Take guest orders and describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting and vivid descriptions of each item’s, origin,taste, and preparation methods
• Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen and bar using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; coordinate foodand beveragetimings
• Check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order andtransport items to the guest tableor lounge chair in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality
• Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests
• Read each table and adapt to the guest, creating a customized experiencefor a variety of local guests, international travelers, and building residents alike
• Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals
• Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables and chairs
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
• Assists with responsibilities and duties in the absence of or due to heavy volume in areas of Food & Beverage when needed

What you bring

• Experience working a minimum of 2-3 years in Food & Beverage and previous experience as a server
• Thrive working in a fast paced, and large team environment
• Ability to be standing for up to 8 hours a day and ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Knowledge of Minneapolis and surrounding areas, highly desirable, however not required
• Preferred experience in a luxury hotel or resort
• Must be flexible with schedule - Able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays shifts
• Ability to carry and balance a tray
• Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions
• Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests
• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
• TIPS & ServSafe certified
