Job summary

Hawkins, Inc. in Spring, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for general facility and equipment repairs including boiler, HVAC, welding, pipe fitting, and preventive maintenance.

You will lead or support capital projects, maintain housekeeping and spare parts, and ensure safety and quality standards; requires high school diploma, 3 years in manufacturing, forklift operation, MS Office, and ability to obtain boilers license or DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment required, previous experience handling chemicals is preferred.
• Previous forklift operation required; equipment (skid steer, backhoe, snowplow) preferred.
• Computer skills (MS Office) required, MRP (JDEdwards) and preventative maintenance program experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain required boilers license and/or DOT medical card where required.

• Apply all product quality and safety standards as well as report any product safety incidents to the Supervisor, Manager, or designated back-up (applicable to positions working in accordance with specific plant or company certifications).

POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintenance of facility equipment including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, light construction, general equipment repair, installation, testing and preventative maintenance.

• High school diploma or equivalent required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. 10-20 feet up to 10 times/day; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, frequently.
• Must be able to pull/push equipment and/or piping weighing up to 100 pounds into position for 1 -2 minutes up to 40 times a day.
• Ability to sit, stand, and climb stairs for up to 12 hours per day.
• Able to climb ladders and work at heights
• Ability to work in a warehouse facility where temperatures may range from 45 up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit; as well as work outside in all weather conditions; snow, rain, wind, and high humidity.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to turn, twist, stoop, bend, and reach
• Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day

Expected Compensation: $28-33/hour + 5% Bonus Eligibility
