Resonant Sciences LLC in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking a Manufacturing/Tool Design Engineer to join a fast-paced elite team supporting national defense programs. The role focuses on design, development, production, and testing of aerospace structures, radomes, antennas, and fixtures.

You will create tool designs and cost estimates, develop 3-D models in CATIA V5, ensure GD&T accuracy, and provide hands-on shop floor support during fabrication and start-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering required.
• Experience designing aerospace quality tools (layup molds, fixtures, inspection fixtures).
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing practices.
• Proficient in CATIA V5 for 3D models and documentation.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Create tool design concepts and cost estimates for multiple programs.
• Support requirements definition and design reviews from tooling perspective.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support production.
• Produce 3-D models and detailed drawings using CATIA V5.

Resonant Sciences LLC has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing/Tool Design Engineer to join our Dayton, Ohio team. The position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced elite team whose primary mission is to support our Nation's War Fighters. The candidate for this position shall be a self-starter who can work independently, unsupervised, and with little guidance. The candidate will have an opportunity to be a member of a world-class team consisting of talented and dedicated engineers, technicians, and professionals who work together to interrupt and challenge the status quo to design and develop state-of-the-art technologies.

Duties And Responsibilities

We are seeking a Manufacturing/Tool Design Engineer to support the design, development, production, and testing of aerospace structures, radomes, antennas, test fixtures, and electronic systems. The selected Manufacturing/Tool Design Engineer will have responsibility for the following areas:

• Create accurate estimates of tool design and fabrication costs.
• Support requirements definition, conceptual design, preliminary design, critical design, design review presentations, and fabrication from a tooling perspective for multiple programs.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support multiple programs and scale manufacturing.
• Create 3‑D product structured models and detailed design drawings utilizing CATIA V5.
• Analyze design risks, anticipate and mitigate risks when possible, and report concerns to leadership.
• Provide hands‑on technical support on the shop floor during tool fabrication and production start‑up.
• Experience with metallic and composite design.
• Coordinate with internal and external suppliers to meet commitments.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• BS with 5 years of experience in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience designing aerospace quality tools such as layup molds, trim/drill fixtures, assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures, and test fixtures.
• Familiar with the materials and processes used in aerospace manufacturing.
• Basic knowledge of CATIA’s composite design suite.
• Experience creating detailed engineering drawings.
• Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and its use related to drawings.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Desired Qualifications

• BS with 10 years of experience in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with CATIA 3‑D CAD software.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing aerospace quality tools such as layup molds, trim/drill fixtures, assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures, and test fixtures.

Citizenship/Security Clearance

• U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required. Active clearance preferred.
