Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Testing and troubleshooting automated wafer handling systems, gas panels, heaters, electronic assemblies, power boxes, controllers, PCBAs, and high purity vacuum components.
- Understanding automated control systems, system software, PLC hardware, and logic.
- Working from technical manuals, specifications, drawings/diagrams, schematics, and instructions, utilizing various tools, test equipment, problem-solving techniques, and communication skills.
- Analyzing used equipment to determine refurbishment requirements to restore equipment to "like new" condition.
- Collaborating effectively as a team and working with minimal supervision.
- Providing guidance to other test and manufacturing technicians when needed.
- Completing assignments in a timely manner.
- Performing data entry related to assigned projects.
Required Skills:
- Basic electrical and mechanical assembly skills.
- Knowledge and use of test equipment such as DVMs and gas system leak testers.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for digital and analog circuitry.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting semiconductor vertical deposition furnaces, both new and used.
- Mechanical and electrical assembly skills at a basic to intermediate level.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain an organized workspace.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
- 2 to 5 years of experience as a test technician.
Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of ISO-9001, ISO-14001, 5S, and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in testing procedures and protocols.
- Comfortable using industry-specific testing equipment and software.
- Strong analytical thinking abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods.
- Light walking on manufacturing floors.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Experience working with small hand tools.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet.
