Manufacturing Test Engineer (VLSI Engineer L3) – Wipro Technologies-USA
Key Responsibilities
- Execute, validate, and maintain diagnostic test codes for complex VLSI boards and systems in a high‑volume production environment.
- Develop, update, and manage detailed manufacturing process documentation and work instructions to standardize test procedures and facilitate training.
- Set up, operate, and maintain manufacturing test stations, performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners such as suppliers and contract manufacturers to implement scalable and robust test solutions, including automation enhancements.
- Conduct initial debugging of hardware failures, collect and analyze diagnostic data, and produce comprehensive reports for root‑cause analysis.
- Review large volumes of test logs; identify failure patterns and provide actionable insights that drive test methodology and product design improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing test equipment and board‑level hardware to optimize throughput and quality.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to increase test efficiency, equipment reliability, and yield optimization through data‑driven decision making.
- Support ongoing operation, setup, and upgrade of test facilities and infrastructure to meet evolving production needs.
- Adhere to and promote safety, compliance, and quality guidelines across all manufacturing test activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
- 3‑5 years of progressive experience in board‑ and system‑level manufacturing test environments, preferably in semiconductor or VLSI domains.
- Strong familiarity with compute and networking hardware platforms including CPUs, GPUs, HBM, PCIe, and related technologies.
- Proficient in Linux command‑line tools and shell scripting for interfacing with test systems and analyzing diagnostic outputs.
- Experience interpreting manufacturing test logs and delivering clear, concise diagnostic communication to engineering stakeholders.
- Hands‑on scripting capabilities using Python and/or shell scripting for test automation, data parsing, or programmatic test control.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing diagnostics software and test automation frameworks common to factory and RMA settings.
- Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills to work effectively in collaborative, fast‑paced environments.
- Self‑driven with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities while fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing.
