Job summary

Wipro Technologies-USA is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer (VLSI) to drive diagnostic testing for complex VLSI boards in a high-volume production setting. The role involves building and maintaining test procedures, setting up test stations, and collaborating with suppliers and contract manufacturers to implement robust solutions.

You will debug hardware issues, analyze diagnostic data, and contribute to test methodology improvements while ensuring safety and quality guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • 3–5 years in board- and system-level manufacturing test environments.
  • Strong familiarity with compute and networking hardware platforms (CPUs/GPUs/HBM/PCIe).
  • Proficient in Linux CLI and shell scripting for test systems.
  • Experience interpreting manufacturing test logs for root-cause analysis.
  • Hands-on scripting with Python or shell for test automation and data parsing.
  • Experience with diagnostics software and test automation frameworks used in factory/RMA settings.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills for engineering stakeholders.
  • Self-driven with ability to manage multiple priorities and share knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and manage manufacturing process documentation and work instructions.
  • Set up and maintain manufacturing test stations; perform preventive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement scalable test solutions.
  • Debug hardware failures, analyze diagnostic data, and produce root-cause reports.
  • Review test logs to identify failure patterns and drive improvements in test methods and design.
  • Troubleshoot test equipment and board-level hardware to optimize throughput and quality.
  • Lead continuous improvement to increase test efficiency and yield through data-driven decisions.
  • Support ongoing operation, setup, and upgrade of test facilities and infrastructure.
  • Adhere to safety, compliance, and quality guidelines across all activities.

Manufacturing Test Engineer (VLSI Engineer L3) – Wipro Technologies-USA

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute, validate, and maintain diagnostic test codes for complex VLSI boards and systems in a high‑volume production environment.
  • Develop, update, and manage detailed manufacturing process documentation and work instructions to standardize test procedures and facilitate training.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain manufacturing test stations, performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners such as suppliers and contract manufacturers to implement scalable and robust test solutions, including automation enhancements.
  • Conduct initial debugging of hardware failures, collect and analyze diagnostic data, and produce comprehensive reports for root‑cause analysis.
  • Review large volumes of test logs; identify failure patterns and provide actionable insights that drive test methodology and product design improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing test equipment and board‑level hardware to optimize throughput and quality.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to increase test efficiency, equipment reliability, and yield optimization through data‑driven decision making.
  • Support ongoing operation, setup, and upgrade of test facilities and infrastructure to meet evolving production needs.
  • Adhere to and promote safety, compliance, and quality guidelines across all manufacturing test activities.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3‑5 years of progressive experience in board‑ and system‑level manufacturing test environments, preferably in semiconductor or VLSI domains.
  • Strong familiarity with compute and networking hardware platforms including CPUs, GPUs, HBM, PCIe, and related technologies.
  • Proficient in Linux command‑line tools and shell scripting for interfacing with test systems and analyzing diagnostic outputs.
  • Experience interpreting manufacturing test logs and delivering clear, concise diagnostic communication to engineering stakeholders.
  • Hands‑on scripting capabilities using Python and/or shell scripting for test automation, data parsing, or programmatic test control.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing diagnostics software and test automation frameworks common to factory and RMA settings.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills to work effectively in collaborative, fast‑paced environments.
  • Self‑driven with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities while fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: $45,000 – $121,000 annually, based on location, experience, and skills.
