Job summary

Legend Brands is seeking a Manufacturing Technology Manager to lead launch and process-improvement initiatives across plastics and manufacturing operations. You will guide tooling, equipment layout, and shop-floor methods while coaching a technical team to optimize throughput and quality.

The role demands seven years of leadership in a technical environment, experience with plastics molding, and strong communications across all org levels.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years’ proven leadership experience in a technical environment required
• Experience with plastics injection molding and roto molding preferred
• Strong communication skills with all levels of staff
• Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean practices
• Skilled in budget preparation
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing launch of new and revised products including tooling, equipment, methods and shop floor support
• Troubleshoot manufacturing assembly and assembly problems, identify root causes and implement corrective actions
• Lead and execute engineering projects through direct contribution and through team members
• Design and implement the layout of equipment and workstations to ensure maximum efficiency and product flow
• Select, develop, coach and evaluate department personnel, establishing clear expectations and hold accountable for results
• Lead plastics process engineering activities, including process development, tooling qualification, validation, and optimization
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to Plastics Process Engineers in troubleshooting molding issues, establishing process parameters and standards
• Maintain and prioritize project backlog with defined owners, milestones, and completion dates
• Actively involved in Tier Meetings, working with a cross-functional team to resolve technical manufacturing issues
• Communicate project status, resource constraints, risks, and decisions requiring escalation
• Develop team capabilities and enhance cross-training to reduce dependence on individual technical experts
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Essential Duties

• Lead manufacturing launch of new and revised products including tooling, equipment, methods and shop floor support
• With the team and through personal contributions, troubleshoot manufacturing assembly and assembly problems, identify root causes and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence
• Lead and execute engineering projects through direct contribution and through team members
• Design and implement the layout of equipment and workstations to ensure maximum efficiency and product flow
• Select, develop, coach and evaluate department personnel, establishing clear expectations and hold accountable for results
• Lead plastics process engineering activities, including process development, tooling qualification, validation, and optimization, to ensure safe, consistent, and cost-effective production of plastic components
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to Plastics Process Engineers in troubleshooting molding issues, establishing process parameters and standards, and implementing improvements that reduce scrap, improve quality, and increase throughput
• Maintain and prioritize project backlog with defined owners, milestones, and completion dates.
• Actively involved in Tier Meetings, working with a cross-functional team to resolve technical manufacturing issues
• Communicate project status, resource constraints, risks, and decisions requiring escalation
• Develop team capabilities and enhance cross-training to reduce dependence on individual technical experts
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree inManufacturing Engineering/Technology, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or directly related field required
• Minimum seven years’ proven leadership experience in a technical environment required
• Ability to evaluate capacity, cycle time, manufacturing costs, and capital project justification
• Experience with plastics injection molding and roto molding preferred
• Strong communication skills with all levels of staff
• Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean practices
• Skilled in budget preparation
• Ability to communicate technical items to non-technical personnel
• Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Hiring Range

Between $120,000 - $138,000/year
